Why is there pockets of bubbles after curing?
If air bubbles occurs after curing your gel, most of the time it would mean that the gel layer that's been applied is too thick. For opaque colours, or colours that has fuller coverage, always apply thin layers and cure each layer before piling on the next. This is to ensure that the light hits the entire layer and dries them before the next layer.
Is it necessary to use Base Coat/ Top Coat?
Gel base coat are designed to bond tightly with your nail plate and then act as an anchor to adhere your coloured gel polish.
Gel top coat (gloss or matte) is the final layer to protect and seal the colour. If you are using a non-wipe top, it will be a non-tacky, smooth glossy hard gel finish.
If you are using a wipe formula , you will need to use alcohol wipe to clean off the tackiness of the top coat.
Why is the base coat so sticky/ tacky?
All of your gel coats will feel tacky after curing. It’s the tackiness which allows each subsequent coat to stick.
